About
Our Founding
Ablaze Mission was founded in 2021 on October 22 to coincide with the feast day of St. John Paul II. He is the pope who turned the eyes of the Church toward young adults through instituting World Youth Day (for ages 16-35). WYD Denver in 1993 prompted the U.S. Bishops to write a pastoral plan for ministry with young adults.
Our Name
"Ablaze" comes from a popular quotation of St. Catherine of Siena: “If you are who you are meant to be, you will set the world ablaze!” We strive to set the hearts of young adults ablaze with the Holy Spirit, who sends them out to set the world on fire as missionary disciples.
"Mission" inherently takes place outside the walls of our churches among the people. Lay Christians are uniquely called to witness and proclaim the Gospel out in the world at our workplace, home, and wherever else we find ourselves. The term "mission" best describes the purpose of this apostolate – going out to young adults – since the majority of them are not coming to our churches.
Our Catholicity
We are committed to carrying out our mission in accord with the teaching of the Catholic Church. Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend endorses this organization as a Catholic entity and we are listed in the Official Catholic Directory.

St. Catherine of Siena
“I am convinced that Ablaze Mission has much potential to inspire our young people to embrace a life of discipleship and be missionaries, agents of evangelization, among their peers and beyond.”
